Here’s my list of useful equipment for offering quality massages. You’ll be able to equip your massage room and comfortably welcome your clients or friends.
All the brands I offer have been tested and approved in my massage room. I use them every day.
Basic equipment :
Pareo for ritual massage :
Cotton sarong, different colors available. Very good resistance over time and to regular washing. On receipt, I soak it in spirit vinegar for 24 hours to fix the colors.
I clean them in the washing machine at 60° to 90°.
Essuies and towels for massage :
Massage sheets in cotton micro-fiber, different colors available. Very good resistance over time and to regular washing. After many tests with cotton, I switched to microfiber because the oil washes off better and the towels last much longer over time. No more oil odor problems. What’s more, despite their large size (200cm long), they don’t take up much space and you can fit many more in your washing machine. Here are 2 brands I use. There are lots of different colors.
I clean them between 60° and 90° alternately.
Massage oil heater
To be able to massage with hot oil, it’s very practical to have a device to heat the massage oil. I’ve already tested several oil heaters (bottle warmers). Most bottle warmers are not suitable for massages, as some are difficult to wash and others switch off automatically.
Here’s a selection of bottle warmers that work well for massage use.
I’ve been using a basic, good-quality German model for 5 years, which is easy to wash because it has a simple bottom. But it’s currently out of stock.
I have a 2nd one that I use at home, it works well, but the quality of the plastic is not as good. It’s also less practical to wash because it has a double bottom. If you’re on a tight budget, you can get this one, but if not, get the German version, which isn’t much more expensive.
Empty bottle for your massage oil
Set of 2 bottles of 200 ml massage oil. I’ve tested several bottles and this is really the ideal size for me. It measures 55mm in diameter and 151mm high. And their proportion means they don’t tip over too quickly… I’ve tested others that were longer, and they were really impractical.
If possible, I use 2 bottles at the same time so that I always have one nearby.
I make my own oil blend and fill these bottles, which stand up well to the heat of the massage oil warmer.
Bluetooth speaker and 3.5mm minijack
Available in white or black, these speakers are superbly practical. They let you play music in stereo and have a good price/quality ratio to take you on a sonic journey. I connect my phone via Bluetooth or the minijack plug.
The other great advantage of these audio speakers. They don’t need recharging. They’re plugged directly into an outlet. So they’re not the right system for on-the-go massages.
Bluetooth speaker JBL FLIP nomad version
Available in several colors. This speaker has a quality sound. They can play music for up to 12 hours. If you buy 2 of them, you can put them in stereo mode in 2 clicks and your phone sends the music to the 2 boxes at the same time.
The budget is higher, but the sound and quality are top-notch. Handy for massaging just about anywhere. And no more wires in your legs!
Bose S1 PRO bluetooth speaker nomad version
Are you organizing training courses? Do you want to create a powerful soundscape to transport your participants, get them dancing, or vibrate to beautiful music and meditation? Then the Bose S1 pro is just what you need. Jérome, my assistant during my Tao workshops, took his… waooo… Magnificent sound. Powerful. And you can link 2 of them for stereo. Battery or mains power available.
After 2 courses with jérome’s… I invested and I don’t regret anything. Especially since I use it every day to play music at home.
You can also plug in a microphone or musical instrument. In short, a great all-rounder.
During a massage, the person receiving the massage relaxes deeply. Despite the fact that my massage room is heated to between 25° and 27°, the body cools down. To bring more comfort and therefore more release, I add a heated blanket between the futon and the protective sheet. The heated blanket, which I use, has 7 temperature settings and a timer to stop it if I forget. Since it’s underneath a sheet, a protective sheet and a massage towel, you won’t feel it as much as if it were on top of you. That’s why you need a powerful model. The one I’m proposing here is very effective, and I’ve been using it for over 3 years. I’ve chosen the 180cmx130cm model, which fits perfectly on a 200cm x 160cm massage futon.
Massage futon (available to order from me)
When travelling, I use a 200cm x 100cm massage futon (200€).
And in my massage room, I use a massage futon measuring 200cm x 160cm (280€) (it is also transportable).
These 2 models are comfortable for both the person massaging and the person receiving the massage.
They are handmade in Germany.
The fabric is treated and dyed in compliance with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (certificate no. A06-0488).
The padding material is 70% cotton, 30% polyester fibers. The addition of synthetic fibers makes the padding elastic and stable.
Protection for massage futon (waterproof mattress cover)
To protect my futon or massage table, I use a waterproof, breathable mattress cover. Available in several sizes. Washing machine and dryer compatible.
Meditation cushion
Meditation cushions to support your massages and relieve pressure on your knee joints and back. I use them systematically to protect my knees. The ideal is to have four.
1 on the head, 1 on the feet, 1 on the left and 1 on the right of the legs.
I recommend the classic model, unless you’re tall or not very flexible. It’s important to have a model with a cover that can be removed and washed easily. So you need a cushion with a double layer so that the outer cover can be removed without getting grains of stuffing everywhere…
The models I propose here are very practical, and you can easily adapt them to your size by removing grains of padding. Organic manufacturing and ecological color.
Zabuton square meditation cushion pad
Square zabuton cushion to place at the head or foot of the futon.
Add a round meditation cushion and you’ll be able to perform head and foot massages while sitting comfortably and protecting your ankles and knees. I recommend the deluxe version, 7cm thick, which is much more comfortable and more compatible with the height of the massage futon.
Dimensions 85 x 80cm for the deluxe version or 80* 75 cm for the classic version.

Ostrich feather for sensual rituals
Ostrich feathers awaken the senses with a very light, sensual touch. Remember to buy a few, as you’ll need to replace them regularly. They tend to become greasy after a dozen massages, losing their beauty and subtlety. I choose feathers between 40cm and 60cm, as they are the most pleasant for massages. I don’t recommend feathers bought on amazon, which are often of Chinese origin. They don’t often arrive at their destination and are often much smaller than advertised.
I currently have 50-55cm feathers available at my massage center in Liège.
Price :
5*nib 50€ excl.
10*fountain pen 90€ excl.
I use a fan to bring soft sensations, like a gentle breath on the skin. I usually use it during the awakening of the senses ritual on the Yin side after the chakra massage.
To activate certain healing energies in massage, I perform chakra treatments with essential oils. I also use certain essential oils or scented blends to awaken the senses. Rose oil and Ylang-Ylang are my favorite oils. Sandalwood is also very interesting. I always use quality, organic essential oils to have better compatibility with the skin and a higher vibratory frequency.
Ayurvedic massage cream for foot care. From the Himalaya brand, this quality cream is ideal for ritual foot massages.
I particularly like it because it allows me to gently massage everyone’s feet, even the most damaged and rough ones.
Venice talc for massage
Venice talcum powder to introduce massage without using oil. This talc is great because it’s unscented and feels very soft to the touch. It can also be used to massage clammy skin or combat perspiration.
My massage oils :
In order to have a quality oil at a fair price, I make my own blend. I use organic vegetable oils that can be easily washed in the washing machine, to prolong the life of my massage towels.
My basic recipe is: deodorized sesame oil + coconut oil (deodorized or not).
The icing on the cake? You can add a little deodorized argan oil per liter of coconut sesame mixture.
I sell bottles of this mixture in my center in Liège: 200ml: 12€ – 1000ml 26€.
Organic deodorized sesame oil
I use deodorized sesame oil because also no it smells fried!!!! Sesame oil is excellent for skin and hair care.
Sesame oil also has the advantage of being fairly easy to wash, so you can considerably extend the life of your massage towels.
I use coconut oil with a natural scent because, unlike sesame oil, coconut oil has a very mild, natural fragrance. Now you can also buy a deodorized version. Sesame oil is excellent for skin and hair care.
Coconut oil penetrates the skin very easily and doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin. It also has the advantage of being as easy to wash as sesame oil, which considerably extends the life of your massage towels.
To make my massage oil even better, I use organic argan oil. Argan oil is really exellent for skin and hair. I use deodorized argan oil, because I don’t like the smell. I add 50ml per liter of coconut/sesame mixture.
Lubricating oil for intimate massage
For intimate massage, yoni massage or lingam massage, I use Pjur, a super German quality lubricating oil. The sensation is much more pleasant for the person receiving the massage when using this oil. It penetrates the skin more slowly than conventional massage oil. Ideal for yoni or lingam massage. Also suitable for anal massage.
Given its price, use it sparingly !!!
I recommend you buy a small 100 ml bottle + a 1-liter refill. The 100 ml bottle is ideal for use during massage. It’s easy to hold in one hand.
Vaseline for anal or prostate massage
For anal or prostate massage, you can use Vaseline in addition to pjur.
Menstrual sponge
If you’re not familiar with menstrual sponges, here’s your chance to discover them. They’re very practical for giving or receiving a massage even when you’re menstruating. I always have some in my massage studio to offer my clients. This intimate sponge is used like a sanitary tampon, but has the advantage of being invisible. You can be intimate with it and your partner won’t even notice. I’ve tested several brands, and the one I suggest here, Soft-tampon by Joy division, is the softest intimate sponge. In the other brands I could feel the sponge.
Depending on your menstrual flow, you should check how often you need to change them. The advantages are: doesn’t dry out private parts, pool-friendly, invisible, long-lasting, yoni massage.
I don’t recommend using natural intimate sponges because they can disintegrate inside and there’s a risk of infection.
Protective glove in powder-free Nitril.
During an intimate massage, whether it’s a yoni or lingam massage or an anal massage, it may be useful or necessary to protect the hands and intimate parts of the person being massaged.
The choice of nitril avoids possible latex-related allergies.
It’s important to buy gloves in your size (XS, S, M, L, XL) to avoid wrinkles or not being able to get into them.
It’s also important to choose powder-free gloves.
To make it easier to insert your hands into the gloves, I recommend that you coat your hands with pjur before putting on the gloves.
